Sealy Lookout, only 12 minutes drive from the city centre, offers truly mesmerising sights with tall flooded gums, tree ferns and dense foliage framing the views of a country town.

At the Jetty, stroll the marina boardwalk past sleek yachts and weathered fishing boats and between June and November you can board a whale-watching cruise from the marina to see mighty Humpback whales or enjoy wild dolphins which regularly accompany the cruise boats all year round.

Emerald Beach, a small seaside village located 17kms north of Coffs Harbour, offers visitors a beautiful coastal landscape and a temperate climate.

It is a great spot for families, with terrific swimming, surfing and nature walks. Migrating humpback whales can often be seen offshore from June to November.

Iluka, Woombah & Yamba are the perfect holiday destinations with spectacular beaches on which to enjoy a swim or bathe in the warm sunshine. Fabulous seafood is a specialty of the area, with Yamba being the home port to one of the largest commercial fishing fleets in the state.

Iluka is a peaceful and scenic town with superb fishing and beaches. The Iluka Nature Reserve contains the largest remnant of littoral rainforest (where trees obtain water via filtration through coastal sand) in NSW, and supports a rich vegetation and abundant bird and animal life.

As you come off the Pacific Highway you will pass through the lovely bushland village of Woombah. This peaceful hamlet is located at the southern end of the Bundjalung National Park and is home to a large koala colony. There is a pottery gallery to visit, a coffee plantation (one of Australia’s southernmost) and the old school house all open by appointment to visitors. The fishing in this area is also good with blackfish, whiting, bream and flathead often caught from the shore and rocks.

Known as The Scottish Town in Australia, you instantly recognise the Scottish influence when visiting Maclean, with many street signs carrying a Gaelic translation and more than 100 telegraph poles that have been painted in the tartans of local Scottish clans. Maclean is also well known for its river fishing and its easy access to coastal national parks and holiday resorts.

Tyndale lies to the south of Maclean and is the most southerly location of the sugar cane industry in Australia. Visitors are able to see the growing and production of sugar cane in the area as well as visit national parks or nearby beaches in Yamba, Iluka and Brooms Head.

Wooli is a beach town on the coast near the mouth of the Wooli River.

Surrounded by Yuraygir National Park, Minnie Water is a small coastal village that offers visitors a tranquil getaway. Enjoy beaches, fishing, boating, swimming, picturesque walks and over 120 species of wildflowers.

Moonee Beach is very popular with fishing enthusiasts and visitors with small children. Moonee Beach Nature Reserve offers shallow water and shady trees, making it perfect for the little ones.

Moonee also offers magnificent scenic views and a glorious coastline and is a great place for picnicking, hiking, canoeing, bird watching and seasonal whale watching.

A quite fishing village, Red Rock is nestled in the unspoiled surrounds of the Yuraygir National Park at the mouth of the Corindi River. Fishing enthusiasts enjoy a trip to Red Rock and surfing and snorkeling are also popular pastimes.

The beaches, lagoons and headlands are worth exploring and there are a number of bush walks available to keep the active camper entertained.

Urunga has a unique seaside village character with plenty to do for all the family and numerous eateries to tempt your palate. Urunga is the gateway to a tidal lagoon and a sweep of beautiful beaches to the north and south with a friendly seaside village atmosphere.

Urunga’s beaches are accessible via a 800 metre boardwalk across Urunga Lagoon with the subtropical climate warming the shallow waters of the lagoon to create a tranquil swimming pool for year round enjoyment.

The stunning white domes of a Sikh Temple will welcome you to Woolgoolga, just 25 kilometres north of Coffs Harbour. The Indian architecture and cuisine offered by the sizeable Sikh community adds interest to this small seaside town which forms one of Australia’s unique multicultural communities.

With approval, visitors may enter the temple to experience this special and sacred place. Boasting some of the best coastal views in NSW the Woolgoolga Headland will reveal spectacular sights of beaches and headlands stretching north and south to the horizon.
