Emergency Travel Kit Checklist

Be prepared when on the road.

Often, we don’t think about what we need in an emergency situation until we’re in one.

For those unexpected events like a roadside emergency such as a flat tyre you should consider having the following items in your car:

  • Spare tyre (be sure to have it checked each time you have your tyres rotated)
  • Jack
  • Scissors
  • Tool box with screwdrivers and wrenches
  • Car owner’s manual
  • Blanket
  • Small hammer
  • Flares
  • Fuses
  • Sealant for small leaks in tires
  • Duct tape
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Empty petrol can
  • Can of motor oil
  • Flash light with spare batteries
  • First aid kit
  • Bottled water
  • Jumper cables
  • Tyre pressure gauge
  • Paper / Pen or pencil
  • Window scraper for ice (if traveling in cold climates)
  • Reflective vest
  • Portable radio with spare batteries
  • Emergency phone numbers of family and friends
  • Insurance information
  • Car registration
  • Snack food
  • Mobile phone
