Staying Active with Green Exercise

Exercising in natural environments not only gets your blood pumping, but also encourages you to explore your surroundings. Studies show that green exercise brings additional physical and psychological benefits beyond those of indoor activities. These benefits include boosting self-esteem, improving well-being and mood as well as reducing stress.

Whether you are camping or on an RV road trip, there are several ways to take advantage of the outdoor green spaces and discover what nature has to offer.

Explore within your NSW Holiday Park

Some NSW Holiday Parks have a range of activities set within a natural environment. Activities could include bike or go-kart hires, kayaking, mini golf course, swimming and lots more. Every holiday park is different so do your research to decide the right park for you.

Photography Walks

Lace up your hiking boots, pack your digital camera and explore the nearby bushwalking tracks. There are nature tracks for all walks of life varying from easy to challenging levels in NSW National Parks.

A photography walk is a fun way to hone your camera skills while doing hours of green exercise. You may capture a shot of pristine beaches, rocky waterfalls, or a backdrop of a beautiful sunset – in simpler words ‘expect the unexpected’. They would be the type of shots that might trigger an awe-inspiring sight for your Instagram and Facebook followers.

Local Gardening

Get involved with local gardening as you could develop a sense of fulfillment for helping things grow from the ground.

If you’re staying in a Holiday Park, enquire whether they have any scheduled tree planting or gardening activities. OR volunteer in a local community garden near you.
