Head to the Snowy Mountains

The Snowy Mountains of NSW makes for a great winter holiday with fresh mountain air, quaint villages open fires and fun in the snow.

The peak Snow Season is July and August and it’s a great time to explore the region.

Be sure to book your accommodation and activities early, and remember to pack insulated clothing, gloves, hats, and warm boots, as well as sunscreen and protective eyewear. Clothes and equipment can be hired from towns close to the snowfields, such as Jindabyne and Cooma.

By law, all two-wheel-drive vehicles entering the Kosciuszko Road in Kosciuszko National Park must carry snow chains in winter, unless the road signs say otherwise.
