Starting in the Royal National Park, the drive travels through the coastal towns of Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, ending in Nowra at Bomaderry, where visitors can turn inland to the Southern Highlands or head further south along the Princess Highway on the Sydney Melbourne Coastal Drive.
